Pokékipe features — competitive Pokémon analytics end-to-end

Pokékipe is a competitive Pokémon analytics platform. Here is what it actually does, without marketing fluff.

Meta analytics

What does the meta analytics section offer?

Pokékipe's format pages aggregate Smogon data into a complete view of each competitive tier. For every format (Gen 9 OU, Ubers, UU, Doubles OU, VGC Regulation…) you get the monthly usage ranking with deltas, the top movers (Pokémon with sharp usage changes), the number of battles played, popular leads, and the meta's archetypal composition (Rain, Trick Room, Balance, Hyper Offense…).

The ALL / ELITE ELO toggle switches between the full ladder and high-rated players. You can also open the historical heatmap (see below) directly from any format page.

Pokémon profiles

What is a Pokémon profile on Pokékipe?

Every Pokémon has a per-format profile with its usage, top moves ranked by actual ladder frequency, most held items, dominant abilities, most common EV spreads, frequent teammates, and checks & counters with reliability scores.

The profile includes a radar chart normalised against tier maximums, comparable 24-month usage trends, role detection (Physical sweeper, Wall, Pivot…) and representative sets you can export directly to Pokémon Showdown.

Team Builder

How does Pokékipe's Team Builder work?

The Team Builder analyses your team in real time. As you add each Pokémon you immediately see: your Threat Meter (percentage of the top-30 meta your team does not cover), offensive coverage (types you hit super effectively), defensive coverage (types you resist), present and missing roles, uncovered threats with their usage rates, and complementary Pokémon suggestions drawn from real teammate data.

Unlike a pure theory builder, Pokékipe's suggestions are statistical: proposed Pokémon are those that most frequently appear alongside your current members in Smogon data for the selected format and ELO.

Box & storage

Can I save my teams on Pokékipe?

The Box stores as many teams as you want, locally in your browser. Import a team via a Showdown paste, tag it with an archetype (Rain, Trick Room, Balance…), assign it a format, give it a grade (A/B/C) and notes. Mass Import lets you paste several teams at once and tag them one after the other.

From the Box you can load any team into the Team Builder in one click for a fresh analysis, or copy the Showdown paste to use it directly in battle. Everything lives in your own browser — no server round-trip.

Compare

What does the Compare page do?

Compare pits two Pokémon against each other across every metric: direct matchup, meta presence (usage, rank, delta), base stats side by side with comparative bars, overlaid radar, speed tier (who outspeeds whom and by how much), unique vs shared movepool, and an automatic verdict across six dimensions.

Ideal for deciding between two similar options ("Landorus-T or Garchomp?") or just exploring two opposite profiles for fun.

Replay Analyzer

What does the Replay Analyzer do?

Paste any Pokémon Showdown replay URL and Pokékipe breaks it down turn by turn: board advantage over time, damage dealt and taken by each Pokémon, move distribution, turning points, KO chains, and a hax assessment that quantifies how much luck (crits, misses, secondary effects, paralysis, freezes) influenced the outcome.

A Replay History / Corpus view lets you batch-analyse dozens of replays at once — perfect for reviewing a weekend of ladder or prepping from a tournament VOD.

Scouting

How does the Scouting tool work?

Enter a Pokémon Showdown username and Pokékipe pulls their public recent replays, then extracts their team patterns, favourite leads, playstyle tendencies and win rate per archetype. It is the fastest way to prepare before a set against a known opponent.

Scouting reuses the same turn-by-turn engine as the Replay Analyzer, so every replay is available with full detail in one click.

Competitive timeline

What is the competitive timeline?

The Timeline is a unified calendar of competitive Pokémon events: Smogon suspect tests, Viability Ranking updates, Tier 1 and Tier 2 tournaments, VGC regulations, official Championship Series events and regional qualifiers. Filter by source, tier, year or date range to see what is happening right now or what happened six months ago.

Use the calendar view to plan tournament preparation, or the feed view to catch up on the latest meta-shaping events.

Damage Calculator

Damage Calculator with every modern mechanic

The built-in Damage Calculator runs on @smogon/calc, the engine the competitive community trusts. It covers every generation and every format, with full support for the mechanics that define the current meta — Terastallization (including Stellar Tera), Paradox abilities (Protosynthesis / Quark Drive), Booster Energy, weather, terrain, screens, and all major items. Enter a matchup, get the exact damage range and the OHKO / 2HKO probabilities so you know whether a play is safe before you commit.

Pokémon Champions hub

Where do I track Pokémon Champions events?

Pokémon Champions launched in April 2026 as the new dedicated Switch competitive Pokémon platform. Pokékipe's Champions hub aggregates upcoming community events (Discord, Limitless), recent tournament results with full standings, and the top teams from each event. Built specifically for the new format Reg M-A.

Each event surfaces decklists, country/regional flags, Bo3 game-by-game pairings when available, and links into the team-comparison tools so you can break down what won.

Tournament creation engine

Can I host my own tournament on Pokékipe?

Yes. The tournament engine lets community organizers create brackets (single-elimination, double-elimination, Swiss, round-robin), seed players, run check-in, manage matches with auto-report and dispute handling, and publish standings — all without leaving Pokékipe. Free for any community size.

Supports both Pokémon formats (Smogon Singles, VGC Doubles, Pokémon Champions Reg M-A) and any other competitive games. Private and public tournaments, customisable visibility, and host-only resolve when match results don't agree.

Moves / Items / Abilities

Move, Item and Ability pages

Every Move, Item and Ability has its own dedicated page with usage rates across formats, top users per Pokémon, and rising / declining signals versus the previous month. The category system groups them by competitive function — offensive items vs recovery vs resistance; weather vs passive vs disruption abilities — so you can filter and compare at a glance instead of hunting through a flat dex.

Advice Cards

Advice Cards — actionable takeaways in your build flow

Instead of dumping raw data and asking you to interpret it, Pokékipe surfaces short, actionable takeaways as Advice Cards inside the Team Builder. Each card is a one-line finding plus a link to the fix: "No team member resists Ghost — add a Kingambit", "Switching from Life Orb to Choice Band changes 2HKO into OHKO", "Your speed control is missing — consider Choice Scarf on Heatran". Cards are dismissible and fully optional. Advice Cards are progressively rolling out to other surfaces (Replay Analyzer, Compare, Damage Calculator).

Hall of Fame & trainer profile

Hall of Fame and trainer profiles

Pick a trainer sprite to personalise your account and get your own public trainer card in the community Hall of Fame gallery. Your profile showcases your favourite formats, most-used Pokémon and teambuilding style.

Historical heatmap

What does the historical heatmap show?

Every format page features a heatmap displaying the 25 most-used Pokémon over a rolling 12-month window. Each cell is a monthly usage rate: warm colour = high usage, cool colour = low usage, hatched cell = not yet released in that generation. One glance reveals recent meta dynamics — rising threats, falling staples, the impact of bans, post-DLC shifts.

Guides & glossary

Does Pokékipe publish strategy guides?

Yes. Pokékipe ships a library of 50+ competitive guides organised in five axes — eras, formats, mechanics, teambuilding, strategy/onboarding — plus a competitive glossary of 190+ terms. Each guide is self-contained and links directly to the relevant Pokékipe tools at the right moment so you go from reading to doing without leaving the page.

Pricing

Yes. Every feature listed on this page is free and accessible without an account. There is no premium tier and no paywall — all analytics, tools and data stay free forever. Users who want to support the project can do so voluntarily, never to unlock features. Pricing details →
